REACH NOLA responded quickly, and continued to respond to ongoing needs in the community related to the oil spill.

We have already:

Trained over 15 Vietnamese interpreters to be hired by BP and provide assistance to those impacted by the oil spill who speak little English;
Trained Lay health workers on how to identify and respond in a culturally appropriate way to mental health needs in the impacted community; and
Facilitated with partners, a community feedback meeting between gulf-coast community leaders, the Surgeon General, SAMHSA, and other national leaders

We continue to address the need with ongoing trainings and programs.
